Philippe Montanier provides Nottingham Forest team news ahead of Newcastle clash

Nottingham Forest striker Britt Assombalonga is back in contention for this Friday’s Championship clash with Newcastle United, according to manager Philippe Montanier in a press conference reported by the Nottingham Post.
When asked about team news, Montanier confirmed that Assombalonga is back in contention and this provides him with a selection headache in the forward department.
Montanier said that “I prefer to have his problem” as he decides whether to pick Assombalonga ahead of Apsotolos Vellios or Nicklas Bendtner.
He also confirmed that defender Jack Hobbs is nearing a return having played in two consecutive matches for Nottingham Forest’s under 23 side but did not comment on whether he would be in Friday’s matchday squad.
Montanier also praised Hildeberto Pereira, who scored for the under 23 outfit whilst suspended from first team matches.
Nottingham Forest host league leaders Newcastle on Friday evening, hoping to inflict a third successive defeat on Benitez’s side.
