Philippe Montanier confirms crucial blow to Nottingham Forest’s season

Philippe Montanier has confirmed the double bad news that Henri Lansbury will be out for a “few weeks” and Britt Assombalonga might be sidelined for at least the next two games as well, according to The Nottingham Post.

Henri Lansbury picked up a hamstring injury in the warm-up before the rival clash with Derby County at the iPro Stadium last Sunday.

The 26-year-old sat out of the derby match as Forest fell to a 3-0 defeat at the hands of Steve McClaren’s in-form Derby side.

Montanier confirms that it is a big blow because of Lansbury’s influence on the team.

He also says that he won’t be rushing Britt Assombalonga back as the Forest striker recovers from a hamstring injury of his own.

Assombalonga is considered to be nearly ready to return but there will be no rash decisions which will jeopardise him in the long run.

Nottingham Forest fans – how big a blow is this? Who can fill in for Lansbury and Assombalonga? Let us know in the comments below…
