Derby County will be aiming to bounce back from their recent defeat to Bristol City when they face Huddersfield Town tomorrow in the Championship at Pride Park.
Despite entering their clash with the Robins brimming with confidence following league victories over Stoke City and Swansea City, the Rams produced a poor defensive display on Wednesday.
Goals from Nahki Wells, Filip Benkovic and Famara Diedhiou gave City a 3-0 lead at Ashton Gate before strikes from Martyn Waghorn and Chris Martin set up a barnstorming end to this particular clash.
Although Derby pushed forward for an equaliser, the Robins held on to seal their seventh home league victory of the season.
Whilst the Rams have only managed to pick up 11 points on their travels this season, they have been fantastic in-front of their own supporters in recent months.
Having won their last five home games in all competitions, Derby will enter Saturday’s showdown with Huddersfield as overwhelming favourites.
However, the Rams cannot afford to underestimate the Terriers who are currently fighting for survival in the Championship under the guidance of manager Danny Cowley.
Speaking to Sky Sports ahead of the game, pundit Phil Thompson has predicted that Derby will beat Huddersfield 3-0.
The former England international said: “Both teams need a win to boost the morale, and desperately so.
“I do not know what to make of Derby at the moment.
“Their results have fluctuated, with the 3-2 win at Swansea followed by a 3-2 loss at Bristol City.
“You do not know what you will get with them.
“Huddersfield are so hit-and-miss, showing little consistency which has made up the story of their campaign.
“Derby should be looking at this to get back on track.”

Whilst Derby were poor in a defensive sense against the Robins in midweek, they were relatively impressive going forward.
Therefore, by replicating this attacking intent in their clash with Huddersfield, the Rams should have more than enough quality to seal victory.
When you consider that the Terriers have only won four games on their travels this season, they could potentially crumble under pressure if Derby take the game to them.
By beating Huddersfield, the Rams may be able to use the momentum gained from this result to launch a push for the play-offs in the Championship over the coming months.
