Sunderland moved up to fifth in the League One table, as they ran out 2-0 winners over Swindon Town at the County Ground on Saturday.

Goals from Charlie Wyke and Chris Maguire proved to be enough for the Black Cats as they remained unbeaten in this year's league campaign.

But the win didn't come at a cost, with defender Jordan Willis being forced off in the 19 minute with a foot injury, which will have been a concern for Sunderland boss Phil Parkinson.

Willis has already made seven appearances in this year's campaign, and will be hoping that he can build on some impressive showings as the season progresses.

Speaking in a post-match press conference, Parkinson issued an injury update on Willis, with it being a badly bruised foot for the defender.

Parkinson also issued a promising update on Denver Hume, who missed the win over Swindon through injury, although he isn't too far away from a return.

Sunderland are set to return to action in midweek, when they take on Crewe Alexandra as they look to preserve their unbeaten start to this year's campaign in League One.

The Verdict:

Parkinson will be hoping that neither player is out for too much time.

Hume was a key player for Sunderland last season, and he'll be hoping he can force his way back into the starting XI when he is deemend fit-enough to return to action.

Willis will be more of a concern though, as if he was ruled out, then it would leave Parkinson with a real makeshift defence, with the Sunderland boss already being light on options at the back.

It could be a nervy few weeks ahead, as he waits to find out the extent of Willis' injury.
