Leeds United returned to the top of the Championship table with a convincing 2-0 win over QPR at Elland Road on Saturday.

There was some surprise amongst some of the Leeds supporters with Bielsa's team selection, with Eddie Nketiah and Jamie Shackleton being absent from the matchday squad.

The Athletic's Phil Hay provided an important update on Nketiah and Shackleton's fitness, and stated that there is no timescale on their injuries.

Nketiah has been in impressive form so far this season, and already has five goals to his name, with the majority of his appearances coming from the substitutes bench.

There have been calls from plenty of Leeds supporters for the Arsenal loanee to be starting ahead of Patrick Bamford in the squad, but Bielsa is seemingly keen to keep the former Middlesbrough striker in his starting XI for as long as possible.

Shackleton has struggled for consistent game time this season, largely due to the good run of form shown by the likes of Kalvin Phillips and Mateusz Klich.

It remains to be seen as to whether Nketiah or Shackleton will be fit in time for their next game, but Marcelo Bielsa will be hoping their injury worries are nothing serious.

Leeds are next in action against Blackburn Rovers on Saturday, and they'll fancy their chances at staying in touch with the promotion-chasing sides in the Championship.

The Verdict:

This will be a real worry for Bielsa and the Elland Road faithful.

Nketiah has impressed me when he's been given the opportunity by the Leeds boss, and I would have expected him to be starting in the next few weeks if he had been fit enough.

Leeds will be hoping that his and Shackleton's injury won't be anything serious, otherwise it could potentially derail their promotion bid.
