Leeds United's potential takeover from QSI has 'a long way to run' according to The Athletic's Phil Hay, which could be somewhat of a frustrating update for the Elland Road faithful.

It had previously been claimed by French publication L'Equipe that talks were ongoing between the two parties heading towards the end of this year, but no agreement had been formally reached.

It is thought that QSI value Leeds in the region of £60m-£80m, and talks had been progressing slowly, although that could change quickly according to BBC Leeds' Adam Pope.

But this latest update from Hay claims that Leeds are saleable again, which could prove to be an exciting update for the club's supporters, who will be eager to see investment come into Elland Road to strengthen their team.

Marcelo Bielsa's side have started this year's campaign strongly, and currently sit third in the Championship table, just two points adrift of league leaders West Brom.

Leeds will be hoping to build on some impressive showings heading into the festive period, and are next in action when they take on Luton Town after the international break.

The Verdict:

This is an exciting update.

I'm surprised to hear that Radrizzani is willing to sell this club, especially when they're likely to be a Premier League team in the next few seasons.

Surely he'd be better off waiting until the end of the season, as Leeds will be worth significantly more if they're promoted back into the top-flight this term.

New investors will be needed to match their level of ambition in the near future, and if it was QSI that took over, then the Whites could be set for a prolonged spell in the Premier League.
