Peterborough United have today confirmed their tenth signing of the summer, bringing in Swansea City midfielder Adam King on loan, announced the club's official website

The 22-year-old has joined the Posh until January and manager Steve Evans is delighted with the latest of his acquisitions.

“He is a young man that I worked with briefly at Mansfield Town," Evans told the club's website.

"Everyone who takes the opportunity to look at the stats will see that when Adam played, Mansfield won, we certainly didn’t lose."

King spent the second half of last season on loan at the League Two club, making seven appearances.

He moved down to Swansea from Hibernian aged 16 for a seven-figure sum, but he has not progressed as much as the Swans had hoped.

Evans says that King's versatility was one reason why he has been brought in.

“The kid is very comfortable in central midfield as he demonstrated at Mansfield but equally I have seen him play at right back where it has to be said, he is more than comfortable.

"He is an outstanding addition to a talented squad being assembled.”

The verdict

It is very hard to call how much of an impact King will have from seven appearances in League Two.

It's certainly not a signing to excite the Peterborough fans too much, but, with his versatility, he will be a great squad player if nothing else.

The Posh have not had much luck with loan signings in recent seasons, however, but they will be hoping this one breaks the mould.
