Westley takes over the club following the dismissal of Dave Robertson a few weeks ago.

Former player and fans favourite Grant McCann was given the role of caretaker manager after Robertson’s dismissal and produced a 5-1 victory in his first game in charge, followed by a 1-1 draw at home to Walsal – McCann was in the running for the job but has missed out to Westley who has experience in the Football League.

Graham Westley has had two spells in charge of Stevenage and he has also had a spell with Preston North End.

He will have to transform a club who have their eyes set on promotion but have only taken eight points from eight games as the Posh sit 18th in the League One table.

With the club underachieving so far, there is still more than enough time for Westley to improve performances and results on the pitch and with some talented players now at his disposal, Peterborough will be looking to make a return to the Championship this season.

Peterborough fans, what do you make of this appointment? Does this give you renewed optimism in the clubs ambition to get promoted? Let us know in the comments below!
