In a season where Peterborough United finished ninth in League One, seven points off the play-offs, one of the stars of the show was Jonathan Bond.

The 24-year-old spent the season on loan at the London Road Stadium, and has made 45 appearances in all competitions this season for the Posh to date.

Steve Evans side have improved on their last two year’s finishing position and should be looking to sign Bond on a permanent deal, if they are to continue progressing into next season.

Bond came through the youth ranks at Watford, where he went on to make 22 senior team appearances for the Hornets.

After signing on for Reading in July 2015, the shot stopper was recently sent on loan in June of last year to League One side Peterborough United on a six month loan, which was later extended to a full season.

After conceding just 60 goals this season, thanks largely to Bond, the Posh would be silly not to try and secure the young goalkeepers signature for next season.

Parent club Reading struggled at the back this season, conceding 70 goals throughout the league campaign; a feat only worsened by the three relegated sides and Bolton Wanderers.

They finished the season in 20th place in the Championship, just three points above the drop zone, and will look to add improve on that next season.

First choice goalkeeper Vito Mannone played 41 times this season for the Royals, but there will be no surprises if Bond finds himself the new Reading number one next season.

Paul Clement is yet to comment on the future of the England Under-21 international, but Peterborough would be getting a solid pair of hands between the sticks if they can land the keeper for next season.
