The midfielder will now face a three-match ban after receiving a straight red card against Walsall, for accidentally throwing a water bottle which ended up in the Peterborough crowd.

The decision has sparked outrage from the club's Chairman, fans and the local media who simply cannot believe that the ban was not rescinded.

The incident occurred in the 84th minute when the fourth official spotted that a bottle was thrown into the crowd, and he advised the referee of violent conduct as the referee then sent Anderson off.

Peterborough reacted superbly to the decision and grabbed a late equaliser from the penalty spot, but after the game were left stunned by the decision.

The club had video evidence of the incident and a fan who was involved said there was no malice in the slightest as he emailed the club's owner giving his support.

However, this was not deemed enough as Anderson will now miss crucial fixtures after Peterborough announced new manager Graham Westley two days ago.

Peterborough fans, is this nothing but a shambles? Will Anderson be a big miss or do you have faith in other players who can step up? Let us know in the comments below!
