HITC Sport understands that Chelmsford City striker Shamir Mullings is being tracked by a trio of football league clubs.
League One duo Gillingham and Peterborough United as well as League Two promotion hopefuls Luton Town have all expressed an interest in signing the non-league striker.
The National League South side, Chelmsford, only signed Shamir Mullings this summer on a one year contract.
The 23-year-old has been in prolific form for the sixth tier side, with 14 goals in 22 matches this season.
Mullings possesses all the qualities which would make him a threat in the football league.
As well as being a towering centre forward who is tough to beat in the air, the former Southend trainee is apparently a former sprint champion during London youth events.
The physical forward allegedly once recorded a time of less than 11 seconds in the 100m but gave up a career in athletics to sign youth terms with Southend United.
Peterborough, Gillingham and Luton have all had scouts watching several of the Clarets’ games this season and all three have been keeping an eye on the impressive striker.
With his contract expiring next summer, the Essex based non-league outfit are probably aware that Mullings is not a long-term feature and might welcome bids in January to avoid losing him for nothing at the end of the season.
