In what was quite a surprise move on Deadline Day, Peter Kioso temporarily departed Luton Town for MK Dons.

The Hatters, who picked up the 22-year-old from Hartlepool in the National League, sent the young full-back to Bolton Wanderers on a season-long loan last time out, before recalling him in January and sending him to League One with Northampton Town.

After an impressive spell with both, Kioso was kept close to Luton's first team during pre-season and early stages of the new Championship campaign.

Competing with James Bree for a starting spot, it was expected amongst the Luton faithful that the 22-year-old would be pushing the former Aston Villa man, but a third loan move in a year was agreed.

How's he getting on?

Kioso is enjoying a productive spell with The Dons thus far, playing seven times in what has been a strong start to the new campaign.

The full-back has been deployed slightly further up the pitch in a wing-back role, although, it is not a role that is unfamiliar to him.

Kioso already has three goals to his name in a Dons shirt, netting his latest during a 2-1 win against Wigan Athletic last night.

Proving to be a competent defensive option, whilst providing an undoubted attacking service, Kioso has made an excellent start to life in Buckinghamshire, and he could continue to be key in what is expected to be a promotion push this season.

Can he become a Hatters first-teamer?

The defender has all the necessary tools to emerge as a first-team option with The Hatters in years to come, should he extend his contract at the Championship club.

Given the way he started the season with The Hatters, despite being sent out on loan, there is certainly scope for Kioso to enjoy an excellent career with Luton.

Possessing the physicality and athleticism to shine at Championship level, he has perhaps been tasked with a loan spell with the Buckinghamshire club to play within a side who sees a lot of possession.

Bree has been in good form for The Hatters this season, and should Kioso return to Luton and compete for a first-team spot, then it will be an extremely intriguing battle to see which one comes out on top.
