Peter Crouch has admitted that he thought he'd return to Queens Park Rangers for a second spell as a player, but would equally love to manage the West London outfit.

Born within miles of Loftus Road, Crouch began his professional career with Rangers having joined as teenager from Tottenham.

However, following after a successful first campaign with QPR, Crouch was signed by Aston Villa and would end up turning out for Liverpool, Portsmouth, Southampton, Stoke and then Burnley, where he'd eventually hang up his boots in May 2019.

Since his retirement, Crouch has gone into punditry, and is a regular on BT Sport, whilst also has his own popular BBC podcast called 'That Peter Crouch Podcast'. Whilst he's yet to get into coaching, and was never given the opportunity to return to QPR during his playing days, he'd snap up the opportunity to appear in the dugout. "I've always wanted to go back, having started out there as a kid, and always thought I would go back as a player," the 39-year-old told Paddy Power. " "I was 19, still living at home with my parents and I used to walk to training. We'd play on the Saturday and most of my mates were fans and had season tickets, and they'd always bet on me to score the first goal.

"If it came in, we were all out that night and I must have scored about seven or eight 'first goals' that year. I'd look up at the crowd and see all the boys dancing and singing!
"I get to play for QPR, we’ve won the match, and I get to walk out of the ground to the local Irish pub Jono’s on the Uxbridge Road. "It was one of the best times of my life and I always wanted to go back and do that again. Obviously it would be very different now but I’d still get that buzz. "If I had to manage one, it would be good to go and manage QPR."
The Verdict Crouch in the dugout certainly wouldn't be boring. However, the former England striker hasn't even started doing his coaching badges, so this isn't a sight we're likely to see any time soon. But it would be great to one day see Crouch join his ex-England teammates Frank Lampard, Steven Gerrard and Paul Scholes down the management path.
