Football League World's Bristol City fan pundit Colin Sutton has given his thoughts on what the future may have instore for striker Matty Taylor, with the 29-year-old currently out on loan at League One side Oxford United.

The striker has found his shooting boots at the Kassam since making the move to Oxfordshire, netting six goals in his opening 12 league games so far.

Taylor originally arrived at Ashton Gate in January 2017, making the controversial decision to make the cross-city move from arch rivals Bristol Rovers.

The striker ultimately only managed to muster eight goals in over 70 appearances for the Robins and as such now finds himself on loan at the third division outfit.

We caught up with Sutton earlier this week to discuss the experienced frontman's future and here is what our fan pundit had to say on the subject:

"Personally I would not have let him go when we did, we have been very light in the centre forward role and goals have not really been coming at the moment.

"He can still do a job, however I think it will be away from Ashton Gate and in League One.

"For us he was not prolific at all, however was involved in great link up play and holding the ball up, as well as putting opposition defences under pressure.

"I think the only way he could return would be as a squad player from the bench, however I think Lee Johnson does not see that being a possibility.

"One things for sure, he will always be a City legend for his move to us from the Gas on transfer deadline day!"

With Taylor hitting a solid purple patch at Oxford, the 29-year-old may view a permanent move to the Kassam as a real possibility, however the play-off chasing League One side may have a fight on their hands to nab the striker, with his career goal record of 113 strikes in just over 320 games sure to attract plenty of suitors.
