Football League World's Reading fan pundit Nathan Cole has heaped praise on the performances that have been put in by veteran midfielder Charlie Adam, with the 34-year-old having been a key component in his side's recent strong run of form.

With six starts to his name, Adam is finally going someway towards justifying the club's decision to bring him in on a free transfer during the summer.

Two goals and one assist have also provided a good indication that his creative qualities still remain despite his advancing years, thus making him an important member of the Reading squad at present.

After finding the back of the net for his side in last night's 2-1 away win over Fulham, we sat down with Cole to discuss Adam's impact since nailing down a starting spot under Mark Bowen recently, and here is what our fan pundit had to say:

"Since Charlie Adam was brought into the team, his performances have been excellent.

"Adam brings an excellent range of passing to the team, which is something we have been found to lack in some games this season.

"He can find a pass from anywhere on the pitch, plus he brings experience to the field and that allows the likes of Swift and Ejaria to do what they are both good at without worrying about tracking back.

"Overall I would have Charlie Adam as a regular starter for us as we have won four and drawn two of our last six games since he has been in the team."

Adam will no doubt be relishing his side's weekend clash as they take on one of his former clubs in the shape of League One Blackpool in the FA Cup.

Meanwhile Reading will be back in league action on the 11th January when they play host to promotion chasing Nottingham Forest.
