Bradford City supporters are hoping that the 2022-23 League Two season is finally the one where promotion is gained back to the third tier of English football - and they are quietly going about their business.

Last weekend's 2-0 victory away at Sutton United saw the Bantams' unbeaten league run stretch to six matches, with three of those being wins.

In-fact, Mark Hughes' side have only lost once in fourth tier action in their last 14 outings, and it is a run of form which has seen the West Yorkshire outfit settle in fourth spot and just outside of the automatic promotion spots after 18 matches played.

City will be back at Valley Parade this weekend as they take on promotion rivals Northampton Town - let's look at how Hughes could line his side up in-front of what you'd expect to be a 17,000-strong crowd.

With the unbeaten run that they are on, you cannot expect Bradford to have too many changes unless there have been some knocks picked up in midweek.

In-fact, there may only be one alteration by Hughes, and that is the return of centre-back Matty Platt.

The 25-year-old was a summer recruit from League Two rivals Barrow, and up until the clash with Sutton he was an ever-present in league action.

However, a red card for two bookable offences in last week's 2-1 victory over Mansfield Town ruled him out of Bradford's next match - being an important cog in the team though means he's more-than likely going to resume his partnership with Romoney Crichlow, which would see Yann Songo'o drop out.

The same regulars will continue to start for Hughes, but there could be one slight alteration in the attacking foursome, even if Tyreik Wright hasn't recovered from his back spasms.

Instead of Abo Eisa, who started against Sutton, a chance could be handed to Dion Pereira, with the Luton Town loanee only restricted to being a substitute in his last two league matches.
