Birmingham City assistant manager Pep Clotet has delivered a passionate message to the club's fans on social media, after last night's draw with promotion contenders Sheffield United.

The Blues came from behind to earn a 1-1 draw with the Blades at St Andrew's last night, following up the weekend's impressive 1-0 win over promotion chasing Leeds United.

Garry Monk's side are currently 17th in the Championship table, six points above the relegation zone with five matches to play and have taken a big step towards survival.

Clotet shared this post with his Instagram followers after last night's draw at St Andrew's, expressing his delight at the Blues' last two results.

Birmingham were deduced nine points earlier in the season by the EFL for breaching rules on profitability and sustainability, seeing them fall from play-off hopefuls into a relegation battle.

The Verdict:

It has been a brilliant few days for Birmingham City and it is good to see this passion from Clotet, who appears to be relishing the club's relegation battle.

The Blues have taken four points from two of the Championship's automatic promotion contenders and that has to be considered a great return.

There are still five matches left to play and while Birmingham are not safe yet, the last two results have seen them take a major step in the right direction.
