Birmingham City manager Pep Clotet was a happy man last night after seeing his Blues side overcome Middlesbrough at St Andrews.

The Blues looked to have thrown away the chance to win all three points when Daniel Ayala bundled in what appeared to be a late equaliser for Jonathan Woodgate's men. However, young forward Odin Bailey had the last laugh, as he headed in from close range to give the home side the win.

And manager Clotet was clearly delighted following the win, as he took to Twitter to deliver a passionate message to fans following the win.

The win for Birmingham moved them to within two points of the top six with the Saturday fixtures still to come, and it could well represent a turning point in the season given the manner of the victory.

Manager Clotet has been trying to imprint his own style and vision on proceedings at St Andrews since taking over the managerial reins, and he will no doubt be delighted to see his team grind out wins as they did last night.

Middlesbrough manager Jonathan Woodgate, on the other hand, remains a man under pressure as his side sit fifth from bottom with only ten points from their opening 11 games this season.
