The Yorkshire Evening Post reports the player and club came to an agreement to let the 27-year-old leave by mutual consent.

The former Leeds captain had a year left on his deal but has left following a difficult final season at Elland Road.

The former Huddersfield Town and Leicester City full-back was due to move on this summer with both Nottingham Forest and former club Huddersfield reportedly interested.

Peltier joined Leeds two seasons ago from Leicester for a reported £500,000 and was appointed captain by former manager Neil Warnock.

But he fell out of favour with Brian McDermott and ended last season on loan at Forest.

Peltier made 75 appearances, scoring one during two seasons with Leeds United.
