The appointment of Paul Trollope to Cardiff City seems to have shocked a few fans within the football world who don't know much about him.

He became part of Russell Slade's managerial team in February 2015 and has therefore gained good knowledge of the club.

Cardiff missed out on the Championship play-offs after winning just once in the final seven games of the season and eventually finished eighth.

Therefore, improvements at the club are definitely something that would be welcome for the Bluebirds this summer.

Having said that, it cannot be underestimated what talent the squad already holds.

An eight placed finish probably wasn't the best Cardiff fans could have hoped for last season following their impressive form throughout the most part of the campaign.

However, the Championship is certainly one of the most testing leagues in the whole of Europe. As a result, it is definitely something that the Cardiff fans should not be too downbeat about.

With the right signings over the summer, the club could again threaten the play off positions in an attempt to regain that elusive Premier League status.

Having said that, additions are not needed on mass scale. Faith with most of the current squad should stay the same and especially some of the young stars at the club.

Here are THREE young stars Paul Trollope should utilise next season for Cardiff City...

Joe Ralls

At the age of 22, Ralls looks to be showing his class in the Championship.

His 43 appearances last season would be remarkable for any player but to do so at such a young age and such a high standard is quite amazing.

He scored just 1 goal last season but managed to assist a further 7 to boost his contribution to the side in a positive direction.

Perhaps his ability to play in a whole host of positions makes him a good prospect for Paul Trollope to use next season. The youngster should also be looking to take Cardiff on to that next level and help them achieve promotion.

Declan John

The 20-year-old has had a mixed time at Cardiff City since his arrival in 2012.

He has made just 27 appearances for the club in 4 years with loan spells usually present in previous seasons with Barnsley and most recently Chesterfield.

However, John appeared for the club 20 times in their first ever season in the Premier League and therefore his ability must be high enough for Trollope to use effectively.

John will be hoping that he can prove his worth to Trollope and the new Cardiff City boss may feel inclined to use him given his young age and potential for years to come.

Kadeem Harris

The 23-year-old had a tough time with Cardiff City last season as he was loaned out to League One side Barnsley for the most part of it.

He assisted just once for the Bluebirds in three appearances for the club in the Championship last season but he could be hopeful of a different spell under Trollope.

The new manager may be able to inject some much needed confidence in to the youngster who is an exciting winger with raw pace.

Therefore, with the right p[layers around him, Harris could be utilised to good effect next season under Paul Trollope.
