It's safe to say that West Brom have had plenty of ups and downs in recent seasons, with the club now playing their football in the Championship.

Slaven Bilic's side are well on course to win a timely promotion back into the Premier League this season, with the Baggies sat second in the Championship table, and six points clear of third-placed Fulham.

They're also just a point adrift of league-leaders Leeds United with nine matches still to play, and will be hoping they can pip the Whites to the league title.

On this day 12 years ago, West Brom won the Championship title and promotion into the Premier League in the 2007/08 season after a hugely impressive league campaign.

One player that played his part in that promotion-winning campaign was Paul Robinson, with the experienced defender making 43 league appearances in total that season.

Robinson spent one season in the Premier League with West Brom, before moving to Bolton Wanderers in the summer of 2009.

The Verdict:

This was a season to remember for the Baggies.

They were the team to beat for much of that season, and it didn't come as a surprise to see them hold their nerve in the race for promotion.

Robinson certainly played his part in that campaign, and it's good to see him speaking highly of the club still, and they clearly had a real togetherness in that promotion-winning squad.

The Baggies will be hoping they can make a timely return to the Premier League this season, as they look well-set to do just that under the management of Slaven Bilic.
