Former West Bromwich Albion defender Paul Robinson has posted a throwback photo from his time at the Hawthorns on social media today.

The 40-year-old was an important player for West Brom and made over 230 appearances for the Baggies between 2003 and 2011 - helping them win promotion to the Premier League as champions in 2007/08.

Robinson was a known for his solid performances at the back and it's fair to say that his goals for the Baggies were few and far between - the defender scored five times throughout his seven years at the club.

However, Robinson has posted a photo of himself celebrating a goal he scored for West Brom on his personal

/">Instagram account today. The photo includes former Albion striker Kevin Phillips - who scored 46 goals for the Baggies between 2006 and 2008.

Robinson added the caption - "#tbt When you score a goal.. Super Kev asks for a lift and some tips 😉⚽️ #goodtimes #wbafc #naturalfinishers".

West Brom have made a very promising start to the current season and are currently two points clear at the top of the Championship table. The Baggies will be looking to continue their momentum with three points against struggling Stoke City this weekend.

The Verdict

Robinson was an important player for West Brom over the years and he clearly still has a soft spot for his former team. I'm sure he'll look back on his time at the Hawthorns with great memories, as will Phillips.

His solid defensive performances made him a fan favourite for the Baggies, but it's fair to say that his goals for the club were quite rare, so he must have enjoyed this moment with Phillips.

As a former West Brom player, I'm sure Robinson will be pleased with the encouraging start that the Baggies have made to the current season under Slaven Bilic.
