Former Leeds United goalkeeper Paul Robinson has joked that it will soon be his turn to be the Whites manager as he completes his coaching badges.

The keeper, who played over 100 times for the Yorkshire club, was on a video by the Northern Irish FA which showed him doing his badges.

And, the 38-year old responded with a joke about the Leeds managerial situation, with the club still to replace Paul Heckingbottom.

Over the years, primarily under Massimo Cellino, Leeds developed a deserved reputation for constantly firing coaches but things haven't really changed under Andrea Radrizzani.

The Italian owner appointed Thomas Christiansen at the start of last season before removing him by the New Year. Then, Heckingbottom came in but he only lasted four months and 16 games in charge.

That has left the Whites in the situation they currently find themselves in, with the club on the lookout for a new boss.

Renowned coach Marcelo Bielsa is the favourite to get the job after holding talks with key Leeds figures over the past few weeks.

The Verdict

Clearly this is just Robinson having a laugh but it shows the reputation that Leeds have got for firing their managers and it's something that hasn't really changed under Radrizzani.

Therefore, this next appointment is vital and it needs to be the right one as the club look for stability and success.

But who knows, maybe in the years to come Robinson will get a chance at Elland Road, it would surely be a dream job for him personally.
