Wolves’ boss Paul Lambert is confident his side will not need any motivation ahead of their FA Cup clash with Chelsea, despite a run of disappointing results in the Sky Bet Championship, reports the Express and Star.

Wolves have lost three consecutive games in the league, including defeats to struggling Burton Albion and Wigan Athletic, pulling Lambert’s side into a relegation battle.

Lambert’s men now sit 18th in the Championship table, just six-points outside the relegation zone, and could find themselves closer to the bottom-three the next time they feature in the league.

Burton and Wigan both play two league fixtures before Wolves’ next game, due to their cup commitments.

Wolves host Chelsea at Molineux on Saturday, something Lambert is confident his players will not let their league form affect: “They won’t need picking up or motivating.

“I’m looking forward to it myself, the game and the atmosphere it’s going to generate.”

The glamorous cup-tie is a reward for Wolves’ impressive victory over Liverpool in the fourth-round, where they won 2-1 at Anfield.

Wolves’ form has dipped since then, with Lambert’s side only picking up three-points from four league games.

Lambert’s side are back in league action next Friday, when they face Birmingham City at Molineux.
