Wolverhampton Wanderers defeated Queens Park Rangers on Thursday night so Paul Lambert has now tasted all three results as Wolves boss.

His first game ended in a goalless stalemate against Preston before Wolves lost to Sheffield Wednesday and beat QPR.

That victory lifted Wolves three points clear of the drop zone but Paul Lambert knows he still has a lot of work to do to drag the Midlands outfit away from the bottom three.

After a Chinese consortium bought Wolves in the summer, the tendency was to buy players from overseas and that approach has not worked at all thus far.

Paul Lambert is bound to look for domestic players to recruit and especially those with experience of playing in the top two tiers of English football.

He might look to bring back players who he has worked with before because he knows what they offer him.

Here are 2 players Lambert should aim to reunite with at Wolves this January.

Ashley Westwood

With Steve Bruce ready to buy a new central midfielder in January and Ashley Westwood being jeered by Aston Villa fans for his bad performances, Ashley Westwood could be moved on this winter.

The central midfielder is clearly a talented player with good ball control and a range of passing but he cannot compete with Mile Jedinak, Gary Gardner and Aaron Tshibola.

The 26-year-old would bring plenty of experience and composure to the Wolves midfield.

Grant Hanley

Grant Hanley was a key man for Paul Lambert's Blackburn defence but he left to join Newcastle this summer.

The Scotland international finds himself behind Ciaran Clark, Jamaal Lascelles and Chancel Mbemba in the pecking order and has been limited to just five league games this season.

Perhaps Newcastle would consider sanctioning a loan move for the 25-year-old and reuniting with Lambert at Wolves would be a good move for all parties.
