Ipswich Town boss Paul Lambert has laid down the gauntlet to his midfielders and defenders, with the former Norwich City man admitting that he needs to see more in terms of goals from other areas of his team.
James Norwood and Kayden Jackson currently have 20 goals between them in all competitions, whilst Luke Garbutt has netted six from full back, leaving just Will Keane on four as the closest to matching the aforementioned duo of Norwood and Jackson in the scoring stakes.
The League One club’s lack of killer instinct up top in recent games has seen them fall foul to some unwanted results over the past few weeks and Lambert was quick to state that he wants to see more goals from the other areas of his side when speaking to TWTD:
“Definitely, you can’t just rely on [the strikers].

“When people say, you’re struggling for goals, people automatically put it on the forwards’ toes.
“But It’s never that. It’s a scenario where everybody has to help.”
Lambert’s point is fully justified, with his side having only notched one goal in their last five league games, thus seeing them fall to three defeats in the process.
It is abundantly clear that the Scotsman needs to see a lot more goals being scored from different areas of the pitch, otherwise Ipswich face the very real possibility of missing out on promotion back to the Championship all together this season.
With a batch of crucial fixtures to come for the Tractor Boys, Lambert will also be hopeful of seeing Messrs Jackson and Norwood find their feet in front of goal, with the forward duo sure to prove crucial.
Meanwhile, the East Anglian side will be seeking to record their first win in five games when they play host to Burton Albion at Portman Road tomorrow.
