Ipswich Town manager Paul Lambert has delivered an injury update ahead of his side's clash with Rochdale in League One tomorrow evening.

The Tractor Boys lost their place at the top of League One at the weekend because they did not play, but they remain second in the table and have two games in hand on most of the teams around them.

Paul Lambert's side will be looking to build on their 3-1 win over Southend United in their previous game and the Ipswich boss has delivered an injury update ahead of the clash.

Lambert revealed that midfielder Cole Skuse will face a late test ahead of the clash at Spotland, after picking up a groin injury during the game at Roots Hall.

“We will see how Cole Skuse is this morning ahead of tomorrow,” Lambert told the club's media at his pre-match press conference.

The Ipswich boss also confirmed that defender Kane Vincent-Young is set to miss the game after undergoing surgery on a groin problem he suffered against Southend - he is expected to be available again in two weeks.

“Kane Vincent-Young has been in Doha. Fingers crossed the groin injury will be behind him now,” Lambert added.

Lambert also admitted that Jordan Roberts is set to miss the game with a toe injury he suffered a few weeks ago, but revealed that the winger is making good progress towards his return to action.

“Jordan Roberts injured his toe against Gillingham. He’s doing well in his recovery,” he added.

Flynn Downes will also miss the game through suspension after picking up his fifth yellow card of the season during the win at Southend.

The Verdict

Skuse has been an extremely important player for Ipswich this season, so it'll be a real blow for the Tractor Boys if he's out of the clash with Rochdale.

Vincent-Young has also been a key player for Town, so Lambert will be hoping that the defender is able to return to action sooner rather than later.

Even though they lost their place at the top of League One at the weekend due to the fact that they didn't, Ipswich are still in an extremely strong position in the table.

With that said, they cannot afford to take anything for granted against Rochdale and it's important that the players approach the game with the right mentality.
