Ipswich Town manager Paul Hurst has insisted that his side will "have to be at their best" to defeat Leeds United on Wednesday night, speaking in his pre-match press conference.

The Tractor Boys are the division's bottom side having won just one of their last thirteen league games, and it's fair to say that the only result expected on Wednesday night is a Leeds home win at Elland Road.

And former Shrewsbury boss Hurst has admitted that his side will "have to be at their best" if they are to condemn Marcelo Bielsa's men to only their second home league defeat of the season.

"Leeds are playing some excellent football - even when results aren’t going their way, they’re playing well and we’ll have to be at our best”, Hurst said.

"I think Brentford and Leeds have been the best two teams consistently this season in terms of how they play".

"I want to go to Leeds and get a result, not many people will expect us to get anything, but we have to prove those people wrong", he added.

The Whites will be looking for a response after falling to a 2-1 defeat away at Blackburn Rovers at the weekend, and will be looking for only their second win in six league games on Wednesday night.

The Verdict

It's good to see Hurst just be openly honest about his side's chances - Leeds' defeat to Blackburn at the weekend will mean that they will be even tougher to beat on Wednesday night as they will be out for revenge.
