Leeds United have another new manager to take them forward with Paul Heckingbottom the latest to sit in the Elland Road hotseat.
The men from West Yorkshire have had another whirlwind season of ups and downs but, ultimately, there were too many downs for Thomas Christiansen to be allowed to keep his job any longer.
TC has been replaced by former Barnsley man Paul Heckingbottom, then, and so it’s only right we cast our FLW Spotlight onto the new incumbent and his record at his former club:
First impressions, of course, can often tell you a lot but here the case might be a little more skewed.
Certainly, these stats are not particularly standout for a club that is aiming to get into the top six but we’ve got to remember Heckingbottom was working on a shoestring budget for much of his reign at Oakwell.
Indeed, this season they have also been fighting relegation, watering down his good record from when they earned promotion from League One not so long ago.
Overall, then, it’s a pretty typical record for a manager who’s been promoted to a higher division. It could perhaps be better, but it could be a lot worse and many in the game believe ‘Hecky’ is a very good coach.
With better players and certainly better resources at Leeds, then, he should have a good chance to show what he can do and fans will certainly expect certain aspects of his recent record to improve in the coming months.
