Barnsley manager Paul Heckingbottom is hoping his side can get revenge over Huddersfield Town this weekend, when the sides meet at Oakwell, reports the Yorkshire Post.
Heckingbottom’s side welcome promotion-chasing Huddersfield on Saturday afternoon, and will be looking to avenge their late defeat to the Terriers from earlier in the season.
A late Jonathan Hogg goal gave David Wagner’s side a 2-1 victory when the sides last met in August, something that has grated on Heckingbottom over the course of the season, he told the Yorkshire Post: “I have been looking forward to it since they scored in the 96th minute. I wanted to play them on the following weekend.
“I have been looking forward to it for a long time and I hope everyone has been the same.
“I would rather that was our feeling and that the roles were reversed on Saturday.”
Town are flying in the Sky Bet Championship, currently sitting third and just four-points behind the automatic promotion places.
Speaking about Town, Heckingbottom continued: “What I have seen about them – and they have had it all season from when they beat us in the first game – is they have had so many late goals and this is not to say they are a lucky side, because they are not.”
Barnsley are enjoying a fine first season back in the Championship, and are currently ninth in the division, with Heckingbottom’s side still having a slim chance of making the Play-Offs, the Tykes are currently nine-points behind sixth placed Sheffield Wednesday.
