Leeds United boss Paul Heckingbottom's future at the club is in doubt with owner Andrea Radrizzani considering replacing the former Barnsley boss.

The 40-year old only took over in February and seriously struggled to make an impact at Elland Road.

Whilst the Whites were struggling, which is why Thomas Christiansen was replaced, they were still harbouring outside hopes of a top six finish.

However, it quickly became clear that was not possible under Heckingbottom and the side finished in the bottom half of the Championship. In total, he has won just four of his 16 Championship games as Leeds boss.

And, according to the Mirror, that has given Radrizzani serious doubts about whether Heckingbottom can lead the Yorkshrie club next season, with promotion the aim.

The report does add that Radrizzani is hoping Leeds lose the reputation they've built up over the years for sacking managers very quickly but he may feel a change is necessary.

Leeds have been linked with Claudio Ranieri and Michael Laudrup in recent days.

The Verdict

There are a lot of reasons why Leeds failed this season, with the poor recruitment a major problem and Heckingbottom can not be blamed for that.

Yet, there's also no doubt that he hasn't delivered since taking over at Elland Road.

The football has been poor, the results haven't been good enough and he could have few complaints if he was sacked. Radrizzani has a big decision to make in the coming weeks.
