Paul Heckingbottom has admitted it's clear where Leeds need to improve after yet another defeat against Aston Villa last night.

A goal from Lewis Grabban extended the Whites winless run on the road, with Leeds last away win coming on Boxing Day against struggling Burton Albion.

Whilst Leeds put in a spirited second-half performance, their display in the first 45 minutes was extremely poor, with Heckingbottom revealing he is learning a lot about his squad and where they need to improve.

"You learn a lot from these moments, me going forward thinking about the team. I’m learning a hell of lot about the players," he told the Yorkshire Evening Post.

"Next season, we’re definitely as a collective nowhere near where we need to be so whatever changes are made, we want to produce a stronger team and a stronger squad."

The Yorkshire club are back in action against local rivals and Heckingbottom's former side Barnsley at Elland Road next week, with the pressure starting to build on the Leeds boss given his poor record.

The Verdict

Leeds didn't really show up until the second half last night, which isn't really good enough given the fact players should be playing for their futures.

Fans won't be happy with hwo Heckingbottom has settled into his new job but he is honest when talking about the team.

Serious changes need to be made in the summer with the playing squad, and Heckingbottom will hope he is the man to do that.
