Patrick Bamford has been discussing Stuart Dallas’ form this season, with the Northern Irish international managing to cement his place in the Leeds United starting XI.

Leeds signed Dallas back in 2015, with the winger struggling to ever properly establish himself in the side under a host of managers.

Now, in Marcelo Bielsa’s second season, he’s started every Championship fixture, featuring at right-back, left-back and even having a stint in central midfield around Christmas.

To many, the form of the 28-year-old sees him as a candidate for Leeds’ Player of the Season award – at least to Bamford.

Speaking to the Yorkshire Evening Post about the improvement of Dallas and his transformation into Leeds’ first-choice left-back, Bamford said: “Stuey, last year he wasn’t a mainstay in the team, he was in and out and, because he’s so versatile, switched between positions.

“I think he’s come into the team this year and made left-back his own position and also slotted into midfield.

“If you ask him yourself he’d never have thought he would have played there.”

Bamford and Dallas have been mainstays in the Leeds side this season, helping Bielsa’s side to the top of the table with only nine games remaining.

The Whites sit seven points clear of third, whilst they hold a point lead over West Brom, who are second.

The Verdict

Dallas has really impressed this season for Leeds, with the full-back managing to secure an injury-free run that’s allowed him to find some consistency.

His work is clearly impressed his teammates, whilst those on the terrace are loving Dallas’ improvement.

If Leeds do earn promotion, his efforts this season will be remembered for a long time.
