It should be advantage Sheffield United in the race for automatic promotion after Saturday's 1-0 win over Leeds United at Elland Road, with Chris Basham's second half strike putting them a point clear of their opponents with just eight games remaining.
That however, is not the view of Leeds striker Patrick Bamford, who believes that The Blades must now deal with the pressure of having an automatic promotion place in their own hands.
Speaking to the Yorkshire Evening Post after Saturday's derby, Bamford appeared unconcerned by his side's position, claiming: "The gap is not massive. It is tight and having been up there all season we have dealt with the pressure pretty well. Now the pressure, I think, will turn on Norwich and Sheffield."
Bamford, who played the full ninety minutes in the defeat on Saturday, went on to say: "Norwich have been handling it, but for Sheffield it is the first time they have been in this position. It will be interesting to see how they cope with it, no longer being the underdogs and being in that pole position."
Norwich's 2-1 win at struggling Rotherham later on Saturday gave The Canaries a four point lead at the top of the Championship table, with none of the top three set to meet again between now and the season.
The Verdict:
With automatic promotion now in The Blades' own hands, the focus will certainly increase on Chris Wilder's side when the run in resumes after the international break.
With a promotion race as tight as it is however, every point could be crucial in the battle for promotion and with little certain in the Championship, you would rather have that extra point in the bag.
