He has been on Teeside since August 29th 2014, after a half-season loan deal was agreed between Chelsea and Middlesbrough.

The 21-year-old forward has played in 18 of Middlesbrough's 24 league games they have had this season. In this amount of games he has scored seven goals for the club.

The striker also played a part in Boro's League Cup run as he came on in extra time against Liverpool, scoring a Penalty in the last few minutes of the game.

Bamford was being looked at by many clubs; including his former club Derby County, who he was on loan to for the second half of last season.

Speaking to the Middlesbrough official site, Boro boss Aitor Karanka said:

"He loves to be here, we love him here, the squad wants him here and the crowd loves him.

“He's a very good player. I wanted him in the first month of when I arrived here. He’s playing as a striker, he’s supported us a lot, and he’s played for the team and thinks about his team and his team-mates. He is an important player.

"He's a young lad, he has to improve and he has to learn, but he understands the team is the main thing and he wants to be a part of it."

With Derby being a contender in the promotion race, Boro had to act quick to snap up the 21 year old who is a frequent figure in the England under-21 setup.

With his contract expiring at the end of the season, Boro would have wanted him to continue playing at the Riverside in order to try to get him to sign a deal for a permanent deal.

Boro also have loan deals for Chelsea keeper, Jamal Blackman, and Tottenham Defender, Milos Velijkovic, expiring in the coming month as well and the opening of the Transfer Window, it could be a busy month for Aitor Karanka's side.
