Bolton Wanderers fans have lamented the club’s chairman Ken Anderson in the wake of a fruitless deadline day.

Anderson wrote an open letter to the club’s supporters after the 5 pm deadline last night where he expressed his 'disappointment' at no deals coming off but offered solace that there will be more incomings by way of loan.

Some fans, however, are grateful for the chairman's approach after an uncertain summer financially.

The Championship side have managed to sign ten players this summer after letting 12 leave the Macron.

But the deadline day defeat to Wigan in the race for striker Joe Garner has hit a nerve with some of the Trotter’s supporters.

The Latics saw off the competition of Bolton for the services of the former Ipswich striker having seen two late bids rejected.

Anderson had explained the club were priced out of a move for the 30-year-old in what was a bidding war between the two clubs,

Despite the influx of new arrivals and the departure of a dozen players, the club’s fans were hoping to be a part of deadline day, but nothing materialised.

Now, the club’s fans have laid into Anderson on Twitter after Bolton’s failure to make any signings on deadline day, with the loan window now the place to bring in further additions.

Some, however, have backed the Bolton supremo’s stance and positioning when it comes to the club’s finances heading into a loan window that closes on August 31.

Here are the Wanderers’ supporter's reactions to their chairman’s open letter on Twitter.
