Sunderland rescued a late point against Bolton Wanderers on Saturday, which certainly came as a disappointment to the majority of the Stadium of Light.

Bolton were thrashed 6-1 against Rotherham United last weekend, as Keith Hill looked to assemble a squad capable of a surprise League One survival.

But the Trotters took a shock lead on the day through Jack Hobbs, and they almost held on for an unlikely three points.

Aiden McGeady had the final say though, as he netted the equaliser from the penalty spot in injury-time.

The result leaves Jack Ross' side 5th in the League One table, and they will certainly feel as though this was a golden opportunity missed to fire themselves into a better position this term.

Jack Ross has had his critics this season, and they'll be calling for him to face the sack once more after this disappointing showing.

It's safe to say that plenty of Sunderland supporters weren't happy with their latest performance.
