Birmingham City boss Garry Monk has been handed a one-match touchline suspension following his dismissal in Tuesday night’s draw with Brentford.

Monk reacted angrily to Maikel Kieftenbeld’s red card, with the Birmingham boss then sent off for protesting to the referee.

Today, Birmingham have announced that Monk has been handed a ban after admitting to using bad language towards a match official.

He’s also been fined £2,000 by the FA and will be forced to watch from the stands this weekend, as his side look for a return to winning ways against Rotherham United at St Andrew’s.

Birmingham have failed to build on an impressive win over Leeds United, with Monk’s side dropping four points in their last two outings against Ipswich Town and Brentford.

After the news regarding Monk, some Birmingham supporters weren’t impressed with the decision the governing body have made, whilst others were quick to support Pep Clotet, Monk’s assistant.

Here is the best of the reaction…
