QPR were beaten 2-0 by Preston North End last night and many fans of the west London club have taken to Twitter to vent their frustration at Lee Wallace’s performance.
Both of Preston’s goals came from the penalty spot with Daniel Johnson grabbing the opener in the 24th minute and Scott Sinclair doubling the deficit 15 minutes after half time.
It was a difficult afternoon for Wallace, who conceded both penalties – tripping Sinclair in the first half and fouling debutant Emil Riis Jakobsen after the break.
The 33-year-old’s poor evening didn’t stop there either, as he won just two of his seven defensive duels and lost possession 22 times (Sofascore).
The Scotsman has been Mark Warburton’s first choice at left-back this season, with Ryan Manning leaving to join Swansea City on the final day of the summer window, and has started all six Championship games so far.
Warburton does have 23-year-old Niko Hämäläinen as a potential alternative and it seems the Kiyan Prince Foundation Stadium faithful would rather see him in the side.
Do QPR and Brentford have these 10 things in common?
Many R’s fans took to Twitter after last night’s game to vent their frustration about Wallace’s poor performance.
Read their reaction here:
That’s gotta be one of the worst performances I’ve ever seen. Never wanna see Lee Wallace in a QPR shirt again, an ‘experienced professional’ giving away two stupid penalties in one game, pathetic. Not one shot on target, sums up our night https://t.co/1w8WPKYbne

Great selection I'm not bothered as long as we put in a strong performance unlike last night.
Lee Wallace shouldn't play for us again and Chair just ain't strong enough to play as a number 10.
Dickie looked good, Barbet looks dodgy at best.
Onwards and upwards#QprFamily https://t.co/soS19yxwGw

Definitely – Niko has definitely earned his chance to play. @markwarburton9 – Wallace has cost us too many points – can you please look at other options. 🙏🏻 🙏🏻 🙏🏻

Since he arrived at the club I have not seen anything about Wallace to suggest he is good enough. Tonight he was appalling. We really need to replace him ASAP #QPR

When you set up as if your playing Man City away then what do you expect. Terrible. What is the thinking in playing Carroll left of a front four? We’ve just signed two wingers. Bonne didn’t have a QPR player near him all game. Wallace is a disaster waiting to happen #Qpr

Lee Wallace 🤡

Performance was disgraceful. No tactics for the second half on how we could turn the game around. Wallace has to leave im begging you. Bring in niko. Onto Birmingham lads come on!🔵⚪️Need a response

Shambolic tactics from Warburton! Have to start Adomah, Willock and Hamalainen next game. Wallace is useless. Hopefully Dykes is back!

I really don't like to hate on any player they're a person at the end of the day but Lee Wallace needs some time out of the squad we need progress and he isn't it #QPR

How on Earth is lee Wallace keeping Niko out the side? @QPR
