Garry Monk returns to St. Andrew's for the first time since parting company with Birmingham City this weekend, as he looks to guide his Sheffield Wednesday side to a much-needed win.

The 40-year-old steered Blues away from relegation in the 2017/18 campaign before taking them to within touching distance of the Championship play-off spots last term, before things turned sour off the pitch.

A nine-point deduction saw Blues drop down the Championship table like a stone, and the manager's relationship with the board turned fractious which led to his departure.

Now, Monk is in charge of Wednesday and is certainly skating on thin ice at Hillsborough, with his side winning only one of their last nine games in the league.

The last time they met, Monk refused to shake hands with his former assistant and current Blues boss Pep Clotet, in what was an awkward pre-match encounter.

Ahead of Monk's return to the West Midlands, Birmingham fans have been reflecting on Monk's time in charge, and members of the Birmingham City Fan Zone group on Facebook have summed up his tenure in only one word.

Here's what they had to say...

Steve Brown: Fraudulent

Tom Malone: Passionate

Tom Hill: Selfserving

Lesley Grice: Togetherness

Linda Mcdonough: Great

Dylan Wassall: Productive

Ronnie Hyde Allen: Refreshing
