Fulham are looking to get their first win of the new season this weekend as they host Blackburn Rovers at Craven Cottage.

The Lilywhites lost to Barnsley on the opening weekend of the Sky Bet Championship and, if there was any doubt that this year was going to be hard, it'll be gone now.

Even so, they have the squad to firmly challenge for promotion this season and Scott Parker will be expecting his players to show that this weekend against Rovers.

One man out of contention, however, is Steven Sessegnon:

He's back in training, as per Parker, but is clearly not up to speed and so there is little need to risk him at this early stage of the campaign.

Sessegnon, of course, saw his brother Ryan leave the club on Deadline Day as he departed for Tottenham and he might hope now that he can begin to show similar levels of talent as his sibling this season coming.

This weekend, though, will come too soon for him to start doing exactly that.

The Verdict

Sessegnon is a good young player and though Ryan has taken all the plaudits thus far in their short careers, do not expect Steven to not bring his own attributes to the table.

Once back up to speed, he'll be desperate to show what he can do at Craven Cottage and this could be the season for him to really start kicking on.
