Leeds United were forced to settle for a play-off spot this season after they drew 1-1 with Aston Villa at Elland Road on Sunday.

One man that has been key to their excellent season is Pablo Hernandez, who at times, has single-handedly won the club valuable points in their quest for promotion.

Hernandez has been in impressive form this season and has 12 goals and 12 assists to his name for Marcelo Bielsa's side in their promotion-chasing league campaign.

The Spaniard may fear that this could be his last chance to win promotion back into the top-flight, as at the age of 35, he hasn't got many more years of playing at his best.

Leeds will be hoping to finish the season strongly with a win over already-relegated, Ipswich Town at Portman Road this weekend.

The Whites will be in desperate need of building up some form heading into the play-offs, as otherwise they will struggle to force their way back into the Premier League by the conclusion of this year's campaign.

The Verdict:

He deserves promotion.

If there's one Leeds player that deserves promotion this season, it's Pablo Hernandez, without a shadow of a doubt.

He's been in excellent form in this year's league campaign, and without him, the Whites wouldn't have a chance of making a long-awaited return to the Premier League.
