Leeds United have recently returned to training as they look to get back to match fitness ahead of the final nine matches of their season.

The Whites are currently sat top of the Championship table, and are seven points clear of third-placed Fulham, as they edge closer to a long-awaited promotion back into the Premier League.

However, due to off-the-field events, that push for promotion into the top-flight has been put on hold, with no scheduled date for competitive action to get back underway being set as of yet.

One player that has played a key role in Leeds' impressive performances this term is Pablo Hernandez, who has been a regular in Marcelo Bielsa's plans.

The Spaniard has chipped in with six goals and six assists in all competitions this season, and will be keen to pick up where he left off when matches are to return to the sporting calendar.

Hernandez took to Instagram to reveal that they are back in training, and is clearly looking forward to preparing for the conclusion of this year's campaign.

Hernandez has previously played his football in the Premier League in a two-year spell with Swansea City, and will be eager to have one more shot in the top-flight in the near future.

The Verdict:

He's going to be crucial for Leeds heading into the final nine matches of this year's campaign.

Hernandez seems to be getting better with age, and will certainly feel as though he's capable of making the step up to the Premier League before he calls time on his playing career.

He's a player that is held in high regard by the Elland Road faithful, and that'll continue to be the case for the foreseeable future with Leeds United.

I can't see any team catching them in the race for promotion into the Premier League.
