Pablo Hernandez has stated that it doesn't matter how Leeds United win, as long as they pick up the three points.

The Whites winger managed to net the winner for his side on Saturday as they overcame a resilient Reading side by a solitary goal.

The victory means that Leeds are now five points clear of third place in the race for promotion to the Premier League, and there's a great opportunity of doing so after the recent run of form.

Leeds have now beaten Bristol City and Reading in consecutive weeks and head into the midweek game with Middlesbrough full of confidence.

Hernandez has expressed that performances are now secondary for this Leeds side and that the most important thing is making sure they can claim maximum points in every game they play.

Speaking to the Yorkshire Evening Post, Hernandez said: "It doesn't matter if it is 1-0 or 3-0, the most important thing now is to take three points.

"The victory was very important for us."

The Verdict

Hernandez hasn't quite hit the heights of last season during this campaign, but he's getting there and is starting to show how important he could be during the run-in.

It was a well-taken goal on Saturday, and one that was much needed with Reading looking confident throughout their time at Elland Road.

The winner on Saturday means that Leeds are now five points clear  of third and it's in their hands heading into the final 12 games of the fixture.

It's set to be an intriguing run-in but the Whites have to make sure they get the points, regardless of how they perform in their final fixtures.
