Hartlepool United manager Colin Cooper is only concerned with Hartlepool United’s results as they look to get into the playoffs.
“We want to go away from home and do something we haven’t really done since Dagenham – be strong, resolute and then go on and win the game,” Cooper told the club’s official website.
Inconsistency has been Hartlepool’s problem in their bid for the final playoff spot, they have only won back to back games twice all season.
“We’re already five points off the last play-off place so if we were to not get anything and then other people do it would be a big gap to make up at this stage of the season,” Cooper said.
For Oxford United, there is still the speculation surrounding who will become their new manager with Exeter manager Paul Tisdale the latest to tipped to be manager.
“Whatever happens, happens, but we’re just preparing for Hartlepool and we’ll see what happens after that,” Caretaker Mickey Lewis told the Oxford Mail.
The table is looking precarious for Oxford with their playoff spot looking in jeopardy.
Lewis said: “Let’s not worry about looking at the table, let’s just go and win one game of football on a Friday night.”
Oxford United– Oxford are without Tom Newey and Michael Raynes through suspension, while Johnny Mullins will be assessed for damage on his foot.
