Oxford United eye move for Newcastle United goalkeeper

Newcastle United goalkeeper Freddie Woodman has attracted lots of interest in recent weeks, and it looks like Oxford United are the favourites to sign him, according to The 72.
Woodman, who had a brief spell on loan at fellow League Two side Hartlepool United last season, is eager to find both experience and first team football.
But the U’s already have four goalkeepers on their books after Sam Slocombe was signed from Scunthorpe recently.
If Woodman, who is the son of the current Newcastle United goalkeeping coach and former Oxford United goalkeeper Andy Woodman, does make the switch to the Kassam Stadium, then it seems likely that both Max Crocombe and former number one and fan favourite Ryan Clarke will be loaned out or released.
Woodman has been linked with moves to Arsenal and Chelsea in the past, but the young goalkeeper is aware that he needs to get some game time, and spells with the lower leagues could help towards that.
