Swansea City chairman Trevor Birch has insisted that there won’t be a change of ownership at the club ‘any time soon’.
Swansea fans gathered last night to participate in a fan forum, where the likes of Trevor Birch and other members of the football club were able to answer any of their questions.
The issue of ownership came up. Birch was installed as the club’s new chairman in March 2019, replacing the long-serving Huw Jenkins.
Birch was named as chairman by the American duo, and majority shareholders, Steve Kaplan and Jason Levien – the pair have received a lot of criticism from Swansea fans for their lack of investment in the club after they were relegated from the Premier League in 2018.
But Birch has ensured fans that there’s no sign of anyone looking to takeover the club, and that Kaplan and Levien have ‘no interference’ with how Birch is running the club.
Can you get 15 out of 15 on this Swansea City quiz? Have a go now!
Swansea fans have had mixed reactions to the news; some think a takeover is imminent, whilst others are fully trusting of the board and their capabilities.

Incoming take over then ! 😂😂

The owners are having no impact. Yep, we gathered that…

No chance anyone will pay them what they’d be willing to accept. Catch22 – they don’t want to spend to get us back to the Premier, but club’s value is only enhanced by being in the premier. Need Birch to stick around.

He’s bound to stick around as he gets 1% ownership of the club for every year he’s here (up to 4 or 5 years/%).

Great evening! Thought all 3 spoke with great honesty, and club appears to be in safe hands!
