Owls boss confirms group of players free to leave the club

Sheffield Wednesday manager Carlos Carvalhal has confirmed that Darryl Lachman, Claude Dielna and Sergui Bus are free to leave the Sky Bet Championship club, the Sheffield Star reports.

Lachman has been at the club since 2015 but hasn’t made a competitive appearance for the club, and has been sent to the development squad.

He has also been out on loan during his time with the club, and the fact that he has been given the green light to leave will likely not surprise many Owls fans.

The story of Dielna is a similar one to Lachman, having also been sent to the development squad, and out on loan. The only difference is that Dielna has made 25 competitive appearances for the Owls, but hasn’t played since Carvalhal has been in charge at the club.

Bus has made an appearance under Carvalhal, making three from the bench during the last campaign, but he also has now been sent to the development squad and like the others have been allowed to leave the club.

Carvalhal told the Sheffield Star: ‘They belong to Sheffield Wednesday but are not included in the first-team squad. They are available for transfer and free to go.’

It remains to be seen whether these three leave Hillsborough before the season commences at the start of August, yet all three would make welcome additions for clubs up and down the Football League.

Sheffield Wednesday fans… what do you make of the news? Is Carvalhal right to let them go? Should they have been given a fair chance in the first-team? Let us know your thoughts and opinions in the comments below!
