When you think of Tranmere Rovers this season, it's hard not to think of James Norwood.

The striker has stolen the headlines with 29 goals in all competitions, 27 alone in League Two. He was named the Player of the Season for the division and is being tipped for a move in the summer, with Ipswich allegedly interested in his services.

Such is the fervour around his goals that many of Tranmere's other stars have been able to fly under the radar somewhat, perhaps not to close observers of the divisions and certainly not to those regulars at Prenton Park. However, the causal fan might be forgiven for mistaking them as a one man team.

As they come off the back of an impressive 0-0 draw with champions Lincoln City, leaving them firmly involved in the play-off battle, it's evident there is much more to this slick and organised unit than it's talismanic front man.

We look at two other Tranmere Rovers stars worthy of high praise, but who perhaps don't get the wider recognition they deserve.

Emmanuel Monthe

Even with 27 goals coming from one man, you're never going to be a success without a strong defence.

One thing they do have is an incredible centre back in Monthe. He's a man-mountain, a huge presence with a nice turn of pace and acute aerial ability.

He's not adverse to using his size in a physical battle either and he's certainly one with a big future in the game.

Jake Caprice

Caprice has done the hard yards in the National League, both with Lincoln and Woking, but he's developing into an exciting and committed full back.

He came through the ranks at Crystal Palace and has made himself a vital part of the Super White Army's squad this season in his first full Football League campaign.
