Turkish Super Lig side Galatasaray are interested in striking a permanent deal with Norwich City for Milot Rashica.

That is according to Turkish outlet fotoMac, who report that the Turkish giants are hoping to keep hold of the 26-year-old beyond his current temporary stay with the club.

The Kosovo international joined Galatasaray on a season long loan deal this summer.

The figure discussed in the fotoMac report suggests that the Turkish side are willing to pay €5 million for the 26-year-old's signature.

The report suggests that Erdin Timur, Galatasaray's CEO, will fly to England during the World Cup break for talks with Norwich City regarding the transfer.

Milot Rashica joined Norwich City from Werder Bremen in the summer of 2021 ahead of the Canaries' return to the Premier League.

At the time, reports suggested that the club paid £9.4 million for his services.

Rashica struggled to carry the goals and assists he had registered in the Bundesliga to the Premier League, though, scoring just once and assisting twice in 31 top flight appearances last season.

This campaign, as Norwich returned to the Championship, he had just one assist in five matches before being loaned to Galatasaray.

For the Turkish club, Rashica has two goals and two assists in eight matches so far.

The Verdict

I think this would be a transfer deal that makes sense.

Rashica clearly sees his talents beyond Championship level, and, there are no guarantees the club will be challenging for or get promoted this season.

Not only that, but when they were in the Premier League last season, Rashica struggled to make the impact he was signed for.

Indeed, it was deal that did not work out and although at Championship level I'm sure Norwich would like him in their side, long term, a permanent move away is probably best for all parties.

Norwich will surely hope to recoup more of their initial fee than the five million euros quoted in the article, though.
